Let’s skip quitters day together!

Yes, there is a day for that! The second Friday in January is known for being the day that 1/3 people tend to ditch their New Years Resolutions. If you’re anything like me, you’ve set some pretty big goals for the year. I don’t know about you, but I’d really love to accomplish ALL of my goals.

How about we play hooky on quitters day? Let’s just skip it! There is a reason we came up with these goals. Why give up now? I’m inviting you to skip quitters day with me!

I find it’s easy to get discouraged or slip back into our comfort zones BUT…. Why settle for a mediocre life when we can have it all?

One of my biggest goals is to conquer the Fat Dog 120 miler Race this August…. Just to put how gigantic this goal is in perspective… I will be running 200 freaking KM 🙈 in the Cascade mountains with an elevation gain that is just a few metres short of Mount Everest’s elevation. This is going to require a heck of a lot training and really getting out of my comfort zone! Just like you’re going to experience as you work towards your goals….There are going to be challenging days. As I work towards this ambitious and wild goal, there are going to be road blocks along the way. Some of the training days are going to be ugly. I will have days where I feel defeated. This is NOT a reason to stop. This is a reason to pivot, to adjust, to keep moving and to keep on pushing forward! Although our goals are likely very different, if I can put in the work to run 200KM….You can put in the work to achieve your goal (whatever that goal maybe).

Doing the work to achieve your goal is hard. Problem solving and overcoming the obstacles is hard. Wondering what could have been is hard. Quitting is hard. The good news is YOU (yes you) get to pick your hard. So pick your hard. I suggest choosing the option that is going to bring you the most joy and fulfillment in the long run. What will you choose?

Are you going to skip quitters day with me? Are you in? Are you struggling with how you are going to do it? Send me an email and let’s talk!
