Is anyone else feeling low after the holidays? I hear you and I’m here for you. You are not alone and it’s common to experience highs and lows in life.

I was shocked to find myself feeling low after the most fun and memorable trip to Thailand. On my trip, I conquered a challenging 110KM race placing 4th, I laughed so hard I cried, I soaked in the sunshine and I relaxed on the most beautiful beaches. I had the time of my life. I have so much to be grateful for yet…. Once I got home, the blues hit me hard.

I’m happy to say I’m feeling much better and I’m back to myself. How are you feeling? If you’re still feeling low, I invite you to reach out for help and support. I also recommend really focusing in on you and your self care. Also, know these negative and low feelings often pass. During the race in Thailand, many of the racers said to one another, “Keep fighting”. So what did I do? I decided to keep fighting and to fight to regain my joy and happiness.

How did I do that? Lots and lots of self compassion, positive self talk and self care.

I pulled all the self care tools out of my tool box and used them.

I used the following simple and well known self care tools everyday to get myself back on track:

  • Writing down things I am grateful for.
  • Exercising for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.
  • Re-connecting with close friends and family.
  • Going to bed early and getting plenty of sleep.
  • Listening to uplifting Podcasts ( Mel Robbins is my favourite).
