The answer is to reprogram your subconscious mind. Albert Camus said “ Life is the sum of all your choices.”Contrary to what you might believe, however; most of these choices aren’t conscious decisions. Most major decisions you make aren’t entirely conscious at all. They are heavily influenced by your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind stores all your life experiences. Even though your conscious mind might not be able to recall every single memory with perfect clarity, your brain has all of them stored inside. Various studies have shown that, while under hypnosis, people can perfectly recall events that happened decades ago. Hypnotherapy is highly effective in helping you explore your subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind can keep you stuck in your comfort zone, and while, yes it does help you be the person you are today, it sometimes holds you back. Think of it this way, if you drive a car long enough, you develop a subconscious understanding of how it works, and now you can even do everything on autopilot. You don’t have to focus as much. This is also why sometimes people zone out while driving. Imagine you’ve driven a car all your life, where the steering wheel is on the right hand side and suddenly you get into your car and realize the steering wheel is now on the left hand side which means you also have to now sit on the left hand side. Imagine how awkward that would feel? You’re experience is likely going to be uncomfortable and you’re really going to have to focus. You may even find yourself wanting to avoid driving all together. Because you subconsciously/ automatically know how to drive with the steering wheel on the right, you may find yourself also making more mistakes now.

Your subconscious mind and your brain in general, wants you to live life in a safe and comfortable bubble. This protective bubble does an exceptional job at protecting you for the most part, however; this routine is also what traps you, high jacks you and/ or completely stops you from achieving your goals.
