For most people, the bed is their best friend. You come home after a long day and it’s always there for you. Sleep as much as you want and forget about all your problems. Your bed truly does deserve all your love…Or does it?
If you’re like most people you know how hard it is to get out of bed in the morning sometimes. Waking up and thinking about having to leave the comfort of your cottony kingdom can be a scary thought. It’s so scary in fact that it’s enough to keep most people in bed even when they know they need to get out.
Today I’m going to tell you how you can get out of bed in the morning and why is it important for you to do so.
Often, people stay in bed because they are either not getting enough sleep or they do not have enough motivation.
Getting more sleep is absolutely necessary if you want to improve in life. With enough sleep, your body gets time to reenergize itself. We need sleep for our body to perform at its true potential.
How can you get better and more fulfilling sleep? Just a few simple changes are all you need. First of all, make sure your environment is quiet and dark. Try to minimize the amount of light that gets into your room when you’re sleeping. This is extremely helpful since your body starts producing sleep hormones only when you’re in a dark environment.
In addition, make sure you’re relaxed before you fall asleep. A good way to do this is to listen to some relaxing music, meditate or read a book before you sleep. A good sleeping posture is also going to help you get better sleep. Some health professionals recommend that you sleep on your back with a pillow under your neck to get better blood circulation going as well. You can look up different sleeping postures online and choose one you think fits best with you.
Once your sleep cycle gets better, you’ll start to notice that it’s easier for you to get out of bed in the morning.
Moving onto the next issue….
What if it’s a lack of motivation? A lot of people struggle with procrastination and find it impossible to get out of bed on time. It’s completely normal to feel this way and luckily with just a handful of tricks you can completely turn the table on your procrastination and start getting up early to crush your goals.
- Don’t panic!
If getting up feels overwhelming because you have a daunting to-do list…then it’s time to relax and slow down those racing thoughts. Think about what you’re grateful for. Think about the things you’re happy to get up for. Even if it’s just that you’re excited to have your morning coffee or tea. Give yourself some space and time to enjoy your morning. Sometimes it’s actually easier to get up a little earlier so that you have some time to relax before you start your day.
- Place your alarm clock across the room.
The hardest part of getting out of bed is the getting up part. If you have to get out of bed just to turn off your alarm clock, you’re already dealing with that in a good way. Try placing your alarm clock on the other side of the room so that you have to walk across the room to get it. Once you get out of bed you can play some music to help motivate you into staying up. Whatever you do… no bargaining with yourself and going back to bed even for five more minutes!
- Write down the day’s goals.
Keep a journal next to your bed. Once you wake up write down the day’s goals. Writing involves deep parts of your brain and scribbling even a few simple sentences is enough to stimulate your brain into work mode.
Getting out of bed is how you start your morning. How you start your morning is how you start your day. Changing how you start your day is how you change your life.
Wake up early to boost your productivity and get a head start. Go that extra mile to stand out. With just a few simple changes in your routine, you can turn your life around and hit all of your goals.
Change your morning. Change your life!
